Continuous improvement to our technical document management service

In a compliance and safety obsessed sector great document management is a cornerstone service. At Vistair we believe that nothing less than this costs an organisation money both in terms of time and resource but also in terms of operational efficiency.

Our DocuNet service is constantly under review with a team focused upon making marginal gains which will benefit our clients and the sector in general.

With a growing list of clients using the our unique flight operations technical publications managed service the intention of the DocuNet development team is to ensure that our distributed service remains second to none.

Whilst we have developed a number of proprietary solutions, especially in respect of Airbus and Boeing OEM manual solutions the ultimate intention is to provide a platform that allows airlines to fly safe in the knowledge that they have all relevant documentation to hand.

Recent focused improvements include:

  • Video Support: PDF video playback has been added to DocuNet online and offline viewers
  • User Guides: Available to download from client InterACT site
  • Table Improvements: The online viewer now supports better table scrolling
  • Viewer Updates: DocuNet Viewer for Windows version 2.3 has been released which brings a number of new features.

We are also keen to ensure that our clients get involved in our developments (See Knowledge Days) but also can provide pointers on our service. Our recent DocuNet Customer Satisfaction Survey, undertaken as part of our ISO accreditation, provided feedback in a number of client focused areas. The survey results have been particularly pleasing in the areas of Vistair staff interaction, response to enquiries and requests, and delivery of document changes. The overall summary result reflects well on the relationship Vistair has developed with our clients, although continuous review and improvement remain integral elements of our approach.

Product Update: Airfield Briefings

Vistair's Airfield Briefings, an audio visual tool that briefs pilots on the terrain and particular features of more than 100 challenging airfields, has had to make a change to its delivery structure. As the shockwave plugin is no longer supported by either Firefox or Chrome only those with Internet Explorer 11 and below will be able to receive shockwave briefings. The video briefings will be provided for all those with Chrome, Firefox, Edge and non-IE browsers.
